BEC is delighted to have invited Ms Christine Loh, Under Secretary for the Environment, HKSAR Government, to meet with our members at a breakfast meeting on 29 January 2013. Following the release of the Chief Executive Policy Address on 16 January 2013, Ms Loh will elaborate for BEC members the environmental issues under the 2013 Policy Address, and exchange views and opinions on them.
BEC made a submission in June 2012 to the then incoming Chief Executive expressing our views on low carbon economy, energy, air quality, land use, built environment, transport, waste, research and development on environmental technologies, and establishment of the harbour authority. As a further submission to the 2013 Policy Address, BEC submitted an Addendum policy paper at the start of this month. (The Addendum, together with the June 2012 policy submission, is available on BEC website: http://www.bec.org.hk/eng/public_policy_submissions.aspx.) It is important for BEC and our members to actively engage with the Government on issues relating to the environment and sustainability.
Please join this breakfast meeting, which offers a good platform for our members to engage with the Government, understand more about the policy direction, and most importantly, express the point of view of the business sector, and explore the areas and ways of mutual support in order to drive Hong Kong towards a low carbon economy.
