Business Environment Council is happy to be a supporting organisation of The Hong Kong Institution of Engineers' Annual Seminar entitled "Green Building - Challenges for Innovation and Excellence?"
About the Seminar
There are over 40,000 buildings in Hong Kong. Green building refers to a structure that uses process that is both environmentally responsible and resource-efficient throughout a building's life-cycle from design, construction, operation and maintenance to demolition. While construction materials and building techniques have changed in the past several decades to become more energy efficient, many innovations for making buildings green are also friendly to our planet as well. This annual seminar aims to provide a platform for practising engineers, academics, managers and other professionals to share their valuable experiences and views on adopting doable approaches to deal with challenges for innovation and excellence. Through these approaches, everyone can increase the comfort, safety and efficiency of our buildings without putting undue stress on our natural resources while minimising pollution and protecting the environment.
