Hong Kong greenhouse gas inventory for 2010 released

The Environmental Protection Department (EPD) today (April 16) released the 2010 greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory for Hong Kong.
Hong Kong's total GHG emissions in 2010 amounted to 41.5 million tonnes carbon dioxide equivalent. Electricity generation remained the major source of emissions, amounting to 27.4 million tonnes or 66 per cent of the total. Other major emission sources were the transport sector (17.8 per cent) and waste management (5.3 per cent).
