This September, in association with Suwon City and our partners at UN-Habitat, ICLEI will present the four-week long EcoMobility World Festival 2013.

The residents of a neighborhood in Suwon, South Korea will temporarily adopt an ecomobile lifestyle to demonstrate how EcoMobility provides innovative environmentally friendly transport options – including and combining walking, cycling, wheeling, and passenging – within a city to all citizens irrespective of age, gender or physical capability.

The Festival will serve as a global showcase of future mobility for NGOs, cyclists and pedestrian associations, businesses, educational institutions and governments in Korea and all over the world as well as a cultural and educational event for local citizens.

The program will highlight ecomobile visions, products and services in a unique, international and real-life setting. Ecomobile products will be linked to a policy environment, connecting leaders and international experts as well as city residents to share EcoMobility ideas and experiences.

A diverse and exciting program is being developed ranging from EcoMobility exhibitions, parades, races, cultural activities and performances on the ecomobile streets, in addition to seminars, workshops and training courses.

EcoMobility 2013 Suwon Congress will take place concurrently at the Festival, bringing together leading minds from the international sustainable transport arena for a four day conference, providing a unique opportunity to participate in a global forum while the neighborhood EcoMobility project unfolds simultaneously.

EcoMobility World Festival provides a unique opportunity to host organizational events, annual meetings or assemblies, private events and workshops. As such, we are happy to assist any interested organizations in defining a tailor-made package with various options to maximize the benefits of their participation in the Festival.
