Event Description
The last five years have seen broad and deep advancements in regional, national and sub-national policies to mitigate future greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, yet global analysis consistently shows additional action is still needed to realize available abatement potential and meet global mitigation targets. This decade will be instrumental in ensuring that current policies are implemented effectively, that additional policies are adopted as necessary, and in highlighting the multiple social and economic benefits of current and proposed policies.
This event will discuss ongoing work at tracking progress of climate policies and analysing their multiple benefits, and will provide the audience with independent estimates of expected policy effects, strengths and uncertainties, as well as initial learning and results from experiences assessing multiple benefits across institutions and sectors. The event will open with remarks from a moderator and conclude with a short discussion session with the audience.
