The 2015 deadline for achieving the United Nations Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) is fast approaching. In this context, there is an accelerated pace of international discussions on global development goals and related issues after 2015. Discussions are focusing on comprehensive and integrated sustainable development goals consistent with the focus and effort of the MDGs, and responding to new and emerging challenges to contribute to the setting of the post-2015 development agenda.
The aim of this symposium is to contribute to considerations of the post-2015 agenda from both development and environment perspectives, as well as consideration of integrated goals for achieving sustainable development, in order to improve the global environment and human well-being.
