About the Workshop

Dr Satish Kumar, a world-renowned educator and editor of the Resurgence & The Ecologist magazine in England, will join another two honoured guests, Mr Lam Chiu Ying, the former Director of Hong Kong Observatory, and Mr Chandran Nair, Founder of the Global Institute for Tomorrow (GIFT), to conduct a public workshop “Ecology and Economy – Prosperity without Growth”on December 4th. 

It is believed that as nature is cyclical, so should be our economy; one cannot have infinite growth that depletes resources on a finite planet, so a good economy is that which brings prosperity and wellbeing without harming or damaging the ecosystem. As most people are aware, there is much about our current economy that is self-destructive in the long term, but it can and must be transformed. The events will give plenty of direction and inspiration to those who seek to join this urgent and joyful transformation.
