Proposed Tolo Harbour Sewerage of Unsewered Areas Stage 2, Phase 1D - Sha Lan, Tai Po approved
The Chief Executive in Council has approved a scheme for Tolo Harbour Sewerage of Unsewered Areas Stage 2, Phase 1D - Sha Lan, Tai Po.
The sewerage scheme comprises construction of about 820 metres of gravity sewer and associated manholes and other ancillary works at the above-mentioned unsewered area. Construction works for the scheme are to be carried out by the Drainage Services Department.
"The sewerage scheme will provide a public sewerage system for collecting and conveying sewage from Sha Lan, Tai Po, for proper treatment and disposal. The scheme will help improve the sanitary conditions in the area and reduce the amount of pollutants flowing into Tolo Harbour," a spokesman for the Environmental Protection Department said.
Approval of the sewerage scheme was gazetted today (November 8).
Details of the sewerage scheme were published in the Government Gazette on December 7 and 14, 2012.
