Lienvietpostbank approves
nearly US$200 million for Xekaman 1 hydropower plant
LienViet Post Joint Stock Commercial Bank (Lienvietpostbank) has approve a credit package worth US$ 193.66 million for expansion of the Xekaman 1 hydropower plant which is developed by the Vietnam –Lao Electricity Corporation (Song Da Corporation). Loan term will be 14 years and it is one of the important and major credit financing contract of the Lienvietpostbank.
The
project’s total investment is
US$ 487.17 million with a total design capacity of 322 MW, is built in the downstream of Xekaman river. The project
which is expected to be completed in
2016 will provide a total
output of 1.22 billion kWh per year. Xekaman 1
Hydropower plant is a largest-scale hydropower project invested by the
Vietnam-Lao Electricity Corporation in Laos. Xekama hydropower plant project is under
the energy cooperation agreement between the two governments of Vietnam,
Laos. It is an important project
not only in term of economics,
society but also politics between the two countries.
