The volume of Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) in Hong Kong is becoming a serious environmental problem that has yet to be recognized by the general public. To reduce WEEE, a well-designed production plan by equipment manufacturers to maximize recycling and reusing is critical. BEC is organizing an Industry Visit to Ricoh’s Environmental Technical Centre and LIVE Office on 24 January 2014 (Friday). In this visit, Ricoh will share with us their vision to support a sustainable environment by minimizing waste to landfill and making the most of resources. You can also find out by yourself how to enhance office efficiency and productivity through a live demonstration at the “LIVE Office”. This activity is by invitation only.

BEC is organising an Industry Visit to ASB Biodiesel Plant again on 17 December 2013 (Tuesday). The 18,000-square-foot plant, began operating last month, is the largest biodiesel facility in Hong Kong.  It utilizes the city’s densely packed scale to collect used cooking oil in the region and from 4,000 restaurants across town, more than doubling local biodiesel production capacity.  If you missed the last visit in April, you will be able to see more this time.
